Glad you weren’t hurt and also glad you vented here. I suspect many of us have had close calls or worse. My technique is to take a snapshot of what’s ahead, and then walk until my judgment says I’ve done that distance, then stop if eyes not open. So far I’ve bumped a few people, and walked into a light pole once, but the fun one was the lady walking in front of me who stopped dead to talk on her cell phone – so she got bumped into I’m afraid. Of course, if I stop when I run out of runway, if there is a BEB person behind me they might walk into me too – I guess it’s a way of meeting people *LOL*. Charging through Costco with my loaded trolley is often quite an adventure – has so far without incident. I usually walk quite a distance when I go to Manhattan to get to my Botox shots, so that means I’m pretty spasmmy at that stage of the Botox cycle. That’s always a challenge as Manhattan’s sidewalks can be rather crowded. I have had one incident where I fell because of a kerb that I didn’t spot, and I know of a BEB person in Oz that badly smashed up her face when tripping over something unseen. But hey, keep up that walking – all those steps on the pedometer count towards the fitness goal, and giving in to this thing is not on the program. Cheers Peter |
