Had dental surgery over a two-week period and was prescribed 400mg. Motrin every 4 hrs., or as needed. It reduced the pain &
swelling of the jaw trauma but also definitely reduced the eye spasms while the therapeutic dosage was in effect. I have no way of sorting out the effect of the jaw trauma pain/swelling vs. the effect of the Motrin on spasm reduction. ( I did not use Klonopin with Motrin ). Has anyone else experienced any good or bad results from Motrin? I searched the Archive back one year and found nothing. Up to now Klonopin has helped me the most. I have to experiment more with Motrin, especially after the jaw trauma is gone. But it looks very promising because it is over-the- counter, relatively inexpensive and has no really serious side-effects if not taken long-term. I have been told by a G.P. and also a dentist that it is not habit forming. However, I do not see Motrin as a 24/7 drug but something to be used to help out during a short driving trip or during a social event when steady eyelids would be welcome. That's why I mentioned it as a candidate for our short-term tricks. If someone chooses to experiment with Motrin, please read the listed warnings on the box and make sure there is nothing listed that could definitely cause you a problem. If you try it please post your results because it should be of interest to many of us. Thanks. Men |
