Glynda,I was being a bit indirect in my comment. There is indeed no code for a limited myectomy, but some surgeons are prepared to accept the payment they get for the work they do that does have a code as sufficient for them to do the whole job. I was merely trying to indicate that they do this ethically, even though there is no specific code. Dr Harrison was pretty clear about this at the 2008 conference, and our recent speaker in Seattle essentially said the same thing. I heard the same from a well known Boston doctor recently also. Net message, limited myectomies are frequently performed by doctors for the payment that they can get for doin associated work. Then again, spme name doctors charge a substantial amount outside of anything recovered from insurance.
