Edit
We're always saddened to hear about a new blepharospasm patient.
I'm curious as to who gave you your diagnosis,; what kind of doctor was it? Was it in Alaska? It difficult to say how you'll Blepharospasm will progress. It's an individual thing.

You can be treated by a neurologist, ophthalmologist, neuro-ophthalmologist or an occuloplastic surgeon. However, it's important that you see someone with experience in treating patients successfully.

You may want to call Siclinda Canty-Elliott, the BEBRF Roanoke Area Rep at (540)989-4850 or Peggy Gilley, another area rep at (276) 956-3555. However, since you will usually need to be seeing this doctor approximately every three months, you really need to find one closer to home. The following people may be able to help you with that.

Linda Peterson
Western District Director
8033 W 78th Circle
Arvada, CO 80005-5007
Tel. (303) 940-9409
dir-w@blepharospasm.org

or Mary Smith at the BEBRF: (409) 832-0788
bebrf@blepharospasm.org

I hope this helps. Good luck!
