I also have the problem with the tongue movement on occasion. It is not constant, but there are times I will be rubbing my tongue inside the mouth until it gets sore.The shot that I get for "bunny nose" seems to keep this tongue problem at bay also. It is placed near the nose at the inner corner of the eye.
I mentioned this tongue problem to a neurologist (who does not give my shots) and his answer was that he moved his tongue around in his mouth too and dismissed it as nothing. I said to myself it is his inexperience. He has just started in practice.
I will say that I have the lip problems only on the left side. My lips on the left side feel tingly or numb at times. This was one of the first symptoms I had---feeling of left side of tongue numb and lips numb. The tongue part went away.
I was checked for hemifacial spasm (MRI) and apparently this was not the problem.
Still strange how we can all be so different.
