That sounds like 'foreign body sensation', but why it's happening to you I don't know. Maybe it's something else.You're not using Restasis, are you? One of the side-effects can be 'foreign body sensation'. I was prescribed Restasis once and stopped using it. I couldn't stand that feeling (it wasn't once a week, though, but once a day).
Is this happening with both your eyes?
And have you consulted your doctor about this? If this is something that has come up since your last appointment, my suggestion is that you call your doctor's office and describe this problem. Your doctor may want you to come in for a check-up, or may have something to advise over the phone.
