Edit
Hi Monica,

Welcome to the forum!

Do you have rosacea? That causes adult acne, but it can also cause bumps and a gritty feeling under your eyelids, which could either cause secondary blepharospasm or worsen primary blepharospasm.

I have facial flushing, and was once diagnosed with rosacea. I took antibiotics for about a year until I got a second opinion (my only sign is the facial flushing, no acne breakouts.)

My teenage daughter has acne, and was prescribed an antibiotic two years ago. She is to take it whenever her acne flares up. When treating acne, sometimes antibiotics are prescribed for routine use. Ask your doctor though, and if you're not satisfied, get a second opinion.
