For Meige (lower face, not eyes) I get injections in the cheek about in the middle of the muscle. I like the idea of getting injections into the same muscle (zygomaticus) higher up and will talk to my neurologist about it in next appt. Developing a flat upper lip is not pleasant--no way anything resembling a smile can happen. I also get injections for the kind of horizontal pulling of the mouth to the side. Those injections are in a short muscle (the risorius muscle) directly out from the corner of the mouth. Like Norm, I get injections into the big muscle that you can feel when you clench your teeth (the masseter) and also several injections into the neck (the platysma muscle) to help with speech (although not too effective yet). With my previous neurologist I had injections in the left and right sides of the chin (the depressor anuguli oris), but the new neurologist doesn't like to use that site--says it could cause loss of control of lower lip. I think that the two most effective sites for me at the moment are the masseter and the risorius. Teeth clinching and sideways mouth pulling are definitely improved. Hope this helps someone. Joellen
