effects of alcohol?

Edit

I imagine this has been discussed before, but I searched the past few months and didn't find anything. I am wondering how alcohol affects most people's BEB---both at the time it is consumed and the next day (if it makes any difference).

I occasionally have wine or a beer with dinner. Sometimes it seems to relieve symptoms at the time, sometimes it seems to aggravate them. There is no predictable pattern, so I can't decide if it's really having any effect at all. The next day always seems a bit worse than usual.

One possibility is that if I have a drink when I am mildly anxious (say, at a social gathering where I might be self-conscious about BEB), the alcohol eases that, causing BEB to improve (temporarily), while if I have a drink when I'm not especially anxious, the alcohol has a negative effect.

Thoughts?
