Edit
Thanks Carol for posting in so much detail.

I, too, have problems when I walk, or when I ride my bike outside. I have always loved walking, especially in parks or treed areas, and BEB/Meige has destroyed much of that simple pleasure for me.

I have been reluctant to try any of the things that you or Michelle said Dr. Farias suggested for you, in case they are not the right things for me. But I think I will start experimenting, especially with controlled blinking and with focusing on something, like a stick, and then reframing what I am doing the rest of the time, e.g. your "observing" rather than trying to keep eyes open. Already, while a passenger in a car for long periods, I have found that focusing on something, such as knitting, allows me to look up regularly so I don't miss all the scenery and points of passing interest. It's not perfect, but it's a lot better than having my eyes shut all the time. The thing I've noticed, too, is that the longer I have them shut, the harder it is to open them, even to blink.

Thanks once more. I really appreciate all the information you have passed on.
