I was recently let go from my position that I was in for ten years. I had returned 8 months ago to full time hours after being off work for 17 months having a myectomy and trying to stablize the botox treatments. Now 58 and unemployed, I am looking at creating my own income by setting up a website to sell behavioural programs to counsellors in the school system.
I am not that hopeful that I would give a good impression in a face to face interview....and as we all know, it is difficult to prove discrimination when there are so many capable applicants interviewed....you just become one that didn't make the short list.
Perhaps you need to set yourself up as a "consultant" rather than having someone else as an employer. Create a "niche" for yourself and market that at a fair price and perhaps that will generate some income.
