cb: I've had pain too, during and after botox which I get around the lash line. If your pain is that bad, I would not hesitate to call back to the clinic and let them know. They definitely should know the results of your injections each time so it can be altered next injection time if needed. Also keep a diary . Good luck and let us know of your progress. P.S. At least find out therapeutic ways to ease the pain. Betty |

After my last set of injections I also had a very bad problem with burning eyes.
My eye doctor told me this was due to dry eye. She gave me a different injection pattern and I am not experiencing it this time. Andrea |

Every time you go for botox ask your doctor to give you a site injection sheet for your records. This is good for you to see exactly where the injections are located and if you were to see another doctor it is good information for him. I have not experienced the burning but I do have pressure behind my eyes right after injections and around 25 to 30 days before injections. Keep a calendar and enter daily great habit. Do you use drops? If not, make it a habit to use them 5 or 6 times a day until the burning stops. Take care, Zoe in TX |

just wanted to let everyone no my wife is better and only her elbow is broke not her wrist and the orthopedic doctor says she will be fine and thanks for all the support and kindness. she is dreading the botox injections in April, every time she has them she has bad itiching and burning that lasts for a month. she waits longer between injections because if she does the 2 to 3 month thing like she suppose to do she spends over a month with the itiching and burning causing her to not see and then the botox which does about the same maxes out after the month and she is back at square one with the blinking and squinting and closure of eyes. She just gets little relief.

Hi, my first message to this great bulleton board. I would think it warrants a call to your Doctor. I have just had my 1st botox in Feb/09. I was really sick with flu like symptoms and very sore eyes but not burning. Must be very difficult, call and maybe an eye drop will be suggested |

my wife has had the flu-like symptoms as well. headache, stomachache, something each time lasting for a few days. the itching and burning lessons but never goes away and is worse with the botox like you have soap in your eyes. she uses systane eye drops and they help some but then it feels like grits in her eyes all the time. this is just a no-win-win for her. constantly miserable. I know its tough for everyone dealing with this day in and day out. I can only hope it gets better the next round for all of you. |

Hi CB As far as burning stinging eyes after botox, this has been a major problem for me for the past four rounds. I started using restasis and this last time the burning is bearable. I have let my doctor know and his response is, I don't want to decrease the amount of botox because it's giving you good results. I use restasis in the morning and at night. During the day I need genteal gel which makes my vision very blurry for about 45 minutes then it's good for about 2 to 3 hours and then I use the genteal again. This goes on for about a month and then it's better and I can use the drops for relief. Husker said the burning is like soap in the eyes and I think that describes it perfect for me. The eyes burn so much it makes them close without the genteal in them. This is just my experience and I haven't found a better way yet. good Luck Lee |

Hi, As far as the restasis, I believe there are a small percent that it truly helps. You really have to give it a couple of months trial. The burning did ease up. I know how hard that is, because it seems crazy that something that is such a discomfort in the beginning can actually help. It has helped me so I feel fortunate. You really have to make sure you only put one drop in each eye. Genteal is a gelike substance. If you can't find it, I'd try any clear gel you can get. Atleast that is what works for me. We're all different. good Luck
