I live in Indiana and expect to spend the winter in Inverness FLorida. This is just below Ocala. I will need a doctor to do the botox probably just one time while I am there.
The best I can understand about my doctor, he limits the botox to 50 mg. Is this unusual? |

I tried several doctors in and around St Augustine, Florida. I was really in bad shape. The one doctor I found that did a really good job for me was Dr Smithwick on Riverside, Av. In Jacksonville Florida. I have had BEB since 1994. I went to every doctor in St Augustine then all the major university associated doctors in Jacksonville, Fl. A support group member from Jacksonville was kind enough to give me his name. IT WORKED!!!!! He is the only Doc who has gotten it right for me. Can't say enough good words about him. He has given me back my life! Good luck to you. I would drive to Jacksonville to Dr. Smithwick. Why fool around? Knauer & Smithwick: Smithwick IV W MD

To answer your question about the amount of Botox. It all depends on how good your control is. I have such good control from the treatment that I really seldom even think about it. When the medicine is wearing off, I call and make my appointment. It takes a week or two for me to get full results, so I don't wait until I an "clamping down" before I make that call. I used to be on a three month schedule, but now I am making it 4 months. I don't know my dose for sure. But, I can tell you that if the doctor does not do it right or if the staff is mishandling the product then you are wasting your money, won't get good results. Not to mention the discomfort of going through the injections. So maybe this is an opportunity to "try out" another doctor. |
