Question re obtaining Zytaze

Hi from the U.K.!
As usual, we are lagging behind you guys in the USA and cannot get Zytaze over here. Can anyone please tell me if it is possible to buy it online or by post from the USA? I assume I would need a prescription from my doctor here in the U.K.?
Does anyone order it online?
(My e-mails to Zytaze.com and Ocusoft.com don't get through for some reason.)
If it really works, I'd almost be tempted to get a cheap return flight to the U.S.A and buy some in person! Seems extreme, but as we all know, we'd do almost anything to alleviate the distress of blepharospasm.
Thanks for any help/advice you can give. Best wishes to you all.
Paul

I read on the Zytaze site that it increases the duration of Botox product injections by 25%, & that it contains a blend of zinc & phytase.

Some BB members here take OTC zinc.

Do you plan to use it as an adjunct to your Botox (Dysport?) injections?

Hi Paul,

You might try contacting Courtney Ahrens who is the Marketing Coordinator for Zytaze with OCuSoft, Inc.
Her email adddress is: cahrens@ocusoft.com

You could tell her your problem and see if she has any suggestions for you.

Like Hasty has mentioned, Zytaze is a prescription combination food supplement that has Zinc and Phytase in it as the active ingredients.

From the Zytaze website: http://www.zytaze.com/faq#five

"What are the ingredients in ZYTAZE®?

Each capsule contains Zinc Citrate 25 mg and Phytase 1500 mg.

What is the recommended dosage of ZYTAZE®?

Two capsules daily for four days prior to and on the day of receiving botulinum toxin injections. Each prescription package contains 10 capsules. ZYTAZE® may be taken during meals or snacks, but avoid taking ZYTAZE® within two hours of other medications and/or supplements. ZYTAZE® is a medical food and is intended to be used under the supervision of a physician."

If you are unable to obtain the Zytaze prescription product, Zinc is easily found in health food stores and I have found a digestive enzyme supplement that does have the right amount of Phytase in it....that could easily be used instead.

Hope this helps.

Shirley,

Can you give me the name of the supplement that has the phytase in it to combine with the zinc? If you prefer to e-mail I put that in for you.

thanks,
Mary in Redmond,wa

Digest by Enzymedica is a digestive enzyme that has Phytase in it. It also has other digestive enzymes and not just the Phytase. I'm sure if you looked through the digestive enzyme products at your local health food store, you will be able to find one with Phytase in it. I was unable to find one with only phytase in it though.

I don't know anything about this particular company/brand...it was just the product that I found in my area that had phytase in it. You may have different brands in your area. I had to ask one of the employees to help me find this.

hi paul, also, if you end up taking zinc separately avoid products with a lot of calcium within 2 hours of taking zinc, either before or after it.
