Yes, yes, yes, i have dry eyes and many times it come with BEB. Check out the website Dry Eye Zone for tons of information that will help. Many of the OTC drops aren't good for dry eyes. Check with your doctor too. Good luck, it is an ongoing process!

Dry eyes can be very hard to treat. I have had BEB for 13 years and have tried a variety of products. I even had punctal plugs put in, but they didn't stay in for more than a week.

Throughout the day, 4 or 5 times, or when needed, I use Equate gentle lubricant eye drops. They are thicker than most over the counter eye drops. WalMart has them. They make them for moderate or severe dry eyes. I have used both. I start putting them in right when I get up.

When going to bed, I use Genteal lubricant eye gel. It soothes the eyes and keeps them moist over night. When my eyes, or one eye gets terribly irritated from being dry and has that sand paper feeling, I use Muro 128, also available at WalMart. It is another gel. I need to ask someone at the pharmacy for this...they keep them in the back at my WalMart.

I have been using these products for about 8 years, and have had pretty good luck with them.

Good luck

Steve

There are many different causes of dry eye. This why an OTC which works for one person may not for another. It is worth trying a variety of products. It would take you forever to try all products on the market so the best approach is to try one or two from each active ingredient group (see link below). If no artificial tear product works, you might want to consider punctal occlusion (plugs inserted in the ducts which drain tears from the eyes). I also suggest you read/watch some of the good information we have on dry eye on our main website (http://www.blepharospasm.org - click on the Related Disorders tab)

Hi,

I have just gotten dry eyes. I didnt have them before Botox treatments. Maybe because my eyes did not fully close during at least a month during botox.

Anyway, I started Restasis 2 months ago. It has JUST started feeling like it may be working a little.

I read on line about another drop - through the pharmacy called Fresh Kote. People love it - but I havent tried it.

good luck! I feel your pain! :)
