Don't Hold your breath while having Botox

As I'm not into pain and find the injections painful, my specialist noted that I was holding my breath while he was injecting.

He advised it helps if you breathe. Think he was worried that I wouldn't restart the process in his surgery. Apparently breathing oxygenates the muscles and might assist with the absorption rate.
I also was advised by another specialist to do eye exercises by squeezing my eyes closed and opening regularly immediately after the injections and as many times as I would remember over the next few hours.

The Botox kicked in within 24 hours instead of the usual 3 - 4 days.

My doctor's assistant taps the side of my head while he is injecting the Botox. That helps A LOT with the pain! She taps the temple on the side that he is not injecting and then switches sides when he injects the other side.

Jill, that is really interesting. You should rename your post - or create a new one - and tell everyone. Might help lots of people??

OK, I'll try... I am relatively new to the bulletin board. Thanks for the suggestion.
