One thing I should clarify. When you are doing the gentle blink, open wide using only eyelid muscles and count- You want to blink gently again before you start to spasm. If you can only count to 1 then blink again that's fine. If you can count to 10- great! The brain is following the correct path and you are giving it feedback that you do not need to spasm because you just blinked but did it in the correct fashion. Then try in trigger situations. Don't panic or get discouraged. Make a game out of it to see how far you can get. LOTS more on the website to elaborate. Once the "switch gets flipped" and the brain is using the correct path- these exercises are no longer needed.
Correct motion heals incorrect motion. The more correct motion you can do (gentle blinking) which is the correct brain pathway and the less incorrect motion (spasms) you can do the faster the brain will switch over to using the correct pathway as the default pathway. Lack of sleep and stress lower dopamine neurotransmitter levels and can set off BEB so it is important to get a handle on that as well. Modified by P.S. at Sat, Jul 18, 2015, 15:05:57 |
