I'm very glad you posted this!
Your post sent me to check online about what the Moran Eye Center in Salt Lake City was doing. They are connected with the University of Utah department of ophthalmology. Ten years ago, I gave them an old pair of my prescription glasses. They put on FL41 tint and sent them back.
I've sent them prescription glasses, both old and new, a few other times since then. Also got a pair of wrap-arounds (Cocoons). Always pleased with the results. I've found FL41 helpful with various kinds of light sensitivity, including sunlight, glare, fluorescent light, flickering TV images, and other things. You can send them frames and have them put in lenses with or without your prescription, or get a clip-on for your glasses, and there are some other variations. Hadn't tuned into that before! Some labs put on a tint that's more of an orange color. I don't care for that, but if you look around, make sure to ask about the color of the tint. FL41 is not always rose-colored. I see that there's now another company in SLC that's called Axon Optics (don't know if they're connected with Moran or the University). Never tried them, they also have a variety of ways in which you can get these lenses.
Oh, and I just did a search for 'FL41 lenses Canada', and this hit came up—from our very own bulletin board!: "FL41 TINT For Sunglasses - Blepharospasm
Hi Donna, I had FL41 sunglasses (no prescription) made a few years ago in Canada, at a place called Mississauga Optical in Mississauga, Ontario."
Let us know how it works out. Judith K
